Former Director of Public Relations of Nigerian Army Brigadier General Sani Usman (rtd) has stated, that there is no law preventing from been shot even if you holding the national flag.
In an interview on ” Who Ordered the Shooting?”, Brigadier General stated that protestors holding the Nigerian Flag and singing the national anthem were still vulnerable to be shot as there is no written down laws concerning it.
He continued that it was a myth shared by former military officers on social media to hold the flag and sing the national anthem to prevent them from been shot by the soldiers.
