Ruth Emmanuel also known as Rutex is a Nigerian Afropop singer, songwriter, and activist. Her music which incorporates Afro; Highlife, Dancehall, Pop, and R&B has been of influence in many African countries and the world as she is acclaimed as an “Energy Goddess” for this and her stage presence.

Rutex is passion-driven and versatile in her craft. She also uses her social media platforms to model for different brands. She has been featured in different magazines both local and international one of which is the “Living Icon Magazine U.S.A”

Born and raised in Abuja Nigeria; Rutex was raised in a multi-ethnic home. Her father is from Kogi State, Nigeria while her mother is a native of Benue State, Nigeria. According to Rutex, She taps from both ethnicities of her parents. Rutex attended Government Girls Secondary Dutse (GGSS Dutse) and is a graduate of English and literary studies from Kogi State University.

On 28 May 2023 Rutex released her debut extended playlist (EP) I AM RUTEX with 4 singles. It was an all-solo EP as Rutex featured no guest appearances on the project.

Rutex is also applauded for her creative and overwhelming stage performances, fashion, and music videos. Her last official music video for one of her singles “Biyayya” was shot in Dubai. In 2020 she was honored by the office of the Queen of Aso Nigeria with the Aso Achievement Award. In 2023 she was awarded by Rotary District 9125 for her outstanding support to the district through her musical performances and service to humanity.
