5 WAYS TO SPEND WISELY DURING CHRISTMAS

If you love Christmas as I do, then you’ll understand my excitement, and during this period, if you are like me, then I bet you understand that native urge to want to go detty with spending.

But gather here let us advise ourselves. January is few weeks away, and that early salary was actually meant for a whole month, (and hallelujah if you’ve got multiple strings of income. I bet you still need to save too)

To help us spend wisely during Christmas, and avoid a financial hangover by January, let us;

5 WAYS TO SPEND WISELY DURING CHRISTMAS

WRITE A LIST AND BE FIRM

So, yesterday I paraded the whole market, spending money on what I did not exactly need. Thankfully, I had intentionally left the office without so much money.

Taking time to draft a list of what you’ll be needing throughout this period will not only ensure that you are focused, but you can be accountable for how you had spent that money

EXAMINE YOUR LIST

So after allocating a budget to individual items on your list, sum it up and see if the total amount still stands within your financial strength, ensuring that you are calculative, with the next year in view, of course. do not be afraid to slash out items that are not so necessary

GO CASHLESS

To avoid the temptation of spending out of your budget, keep just the amount you’ll be needing, but enough to take care of miscellaneous expenses

GIVE HOMEMADE GIFTS

See all these children that would come around to your house this Christmas eh..just package chicken for them biko. No need going above and beyond with special biscuits or chocolates. lol.

This is not you being selfish. For instance, you can package nicely spiced chicken in disposable plates with a can malt

In essence, just be careful!

THINK OF JANUARY

There’ll be a lot of other expenses to incur by January. there’ll be school fees, house rents, light bills and all

To avoid having to borrow from people to pay your bills by January, just be frugal with your spending this December.

And remember that feeling people get of January being the longest month in the year? it is for this same reason for which we are learning to spend wisely now!

So, be WISE!
