A COMPARISON BETWEEN RITA DOMINIC AND OMOTOLA JALADE WITH REFERENCE TO TIMING AND HAPPINESS
I am a writer and an advocate for consumption of African’s merchandize and products and as such I have always loved African movies particularly our Nollywood movies. I have always loved a handful of our African talents and among them; our darling Omotola Jalade and Rita Dominic.
Omotola Jalade is a very beautiful actress who is gifted with the ability to interpret scripts and in the year 2013 she was honored in Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world along with Michelle obama, Beyonce and Kate Middleton. She is forty three years and she just celebrated her twenty fifth wedding anniversary with her pilot hubby captain Mathew Ekeinde. To all that sees her she is fulfilled, a happy marriage, grown up kids, a successful career, you can’t mention nollywood without mentioning omo sexy as she is fondly called by her lovers. I remember those days while growing up my pals had always reckoned her as a paragon of natural beauty as you rarely see her with heavy makeup on set and my friends had said she would be a role model for their wives as regards makeup
On the other hand Rita Dominic is also a veteran actress, who is gifted with a talent for script interpretation, a blue blood and unmarried though forty five years of age. She is happy, a very private person and in a relationship with Fidelis Anosike.
Both actresses are accomplished in their chosen careers and are happy with it. Though one is married and the other unmarried but at the end of the day both are satisfied and both are living their lives to the fullest. This teaches us that we have different timing in life. We need not look at other people to measure our successes. We only need to be in competition with our yesterday to make today better. We need not pull others to survive or to climb. We need not have it all to be happy but we become happy by making the best of our situations and accepting the things we cannot change with gratitude and resignation while asking for the courage to change the ones we can.
The average African see marriage as the ultimate and the highest point of achievement for a woman, marriage is beautiful but shouldn’t be the echelon of a woman’s achievement because marrying the wrong person is suicidal.
We should always be conscious of the fact that we all have different timing so everything will fall in place in due time and when we realize this, we will be happy with life generally, with ourselves and with our neighbors. Omotola is forty three and has grown up children, Rita is forty five and unmarried but both are happy and fulfilled.
