It is not every time that a woman says YES after a man bends his knees, pointing the ring and asking her the big question
“Will You Marry Me?!“
Yes! Some men have walked that path of public rejection and agonising heart break.
You on the other hand can avoid it. If you have a public proposal in mind, try to start by asking these questions.
I am not writing this post to force anyone into marriage. If you don’t want to settle down, keep it to yourself and stop preaching the gospel of ‘forever single’ to others.
To the ‘go and make money‘ and ‘i don’t need a woman‘ crew, this post was not created for you.
1. How long have we been dating/courting?!
If you have not been with her for that 6 months – 1 year window, please have a rethink.
You may just be rushing things and moving too fast. Proposal rejection often happens when the relationship is still very young and you don’t know enough of one another.
2. Is She Timid And Shy?!
Not every woman is comfortable with proposals open for the world to see. If she is very reserved, everything may seem too overwhelming.
Some may be speechless for minutes, panic or even develop a flight response to bail the scene.
You may not end up getting that sweet and adorable moment you hoped for.
3. Is There A Good Chance She Will Say ‘NO’ Or ‘LET ME THINK ABOUT IT’?!
You have to be honest so you don’t disgrace yourself in public.
The chances she will not say YES depends on a lot of things. Be real and weigh things out before wasting time, money, and energy.
4. Have You Ever Talked About Marriage?!
This is meant to be obvious, but surprisingly many guys prefer to assume things than to talk it out.
Proposals can get embarrassing if you’ve never talked about settling down and the relationship lacks a solid direction.
5. Are You On The Same Page With Her?!
Yes! You may love her and want to take things to another gear – but she may not be feeling the same way.
If you skip these cues and assume she’s ready to accept your ring, a public show of love may turn to a public show of shame.
Kneeling down in the midst of strangers may not change anything.
6. Will I Cope Well If She Says NO?!
That’s right! If you don’t handle rejection well, do not take proposing to a public setting.
Whether she says YES or NO, it should not break you anyway.
Don’t be like those guys that will sob on their knees or go ahead to attack the woman for turning them down. Keep it together.
